Kawasaki unveils 2025 KX250 and KLX230R S with advanced features
Kawasaki has been offering motocross motorcycles and enduro machines for decades. These categories may not see significant revolutions, but they undergo constant evolution. After all, these are machines used not only for fun but also for sports competitions.

The Japanese manufacturer introduced two new models for the 2025 model year. The first is the cross KX250 and its cross-country variant named KX250X (with 21- and 18-inch tires). Changes to the engine and its components aim to improve power at low speeds and throttle response when exiting turns. Handling is also expected to benefit from frame and suspension upgrades, which have been carried over from the top-end KX450, updated a year earlier.
Kawasaki also boasts improved ergonomics, including new grips and bodywork designed to make balancing on the motorcycle easier. New electronic features include riding modes and traction control, which can be adjusted via a handlebar switch. Additionally, connecting the bike to a smartphone and setting the engine map using an app is possible.
While Kawasaki also offers the mentioned KX250X, the model designed specifically for enduro or longer off-road routes is the KLX230R, now debuting in the upgraded S version. Among the significant new features is that the ignition is now secured and started with a key—a crucial addition given that such machines can be left in public places. The second most significant change is the expansion of the fuel tank to 7.6 litres (2 gallons), which is now constructed of steel instead of plastic.
The new KX models inspire the design of the Kawasaki KLX230R S. Thanks to a redesigned subframe, the seat height has been lowered to roughly 86 cm (34 inches). Comfort has been enhanced using a thicker seat cushion, now 7.6 cm (3 inches) thick, about 0.6 cm (a quarter of an inch) more than before. Engineers have also refined the 233cc engine, reducing vibrations and improving the intake valve.
