U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump in three key states—Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania—by 4 percentage points, according to a poll released Saturday by Siena Polls for "The New York Times."

For nearly a year, opinion polls indicated a tie between Trump and President Joe Biden or a slight lead for the Republican candidate, emphasizes "NYT."

In all three states, 50% of voters declared they would vote for Harris, while 46% supported Trump.

The paper reminded us that Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania are so-called swing states, where sometimes, in elections, the Republican candidate wins, and sometimes, the Democrat. Gaining an edge among voters there is crucial for the presidential election outcome.

As early as late July, a study commissioned by Bloomberg indicated that Harris led in four of the seven swing states—Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, and Wisconsin, and tied with Trump in Georgia.

At the beginning of July, Trump led Biden by 2 percentage points and was ahead in five of the seven swing states.
