Kai Trump steps into the spotlight, defends grandfather at rally

Donald Trump's teenage granddaughter, Kai Trump, increasingly supports her grandfather in his presidential campaign. During the last Republican rally, she even delivered a short speech stating that the media distorts the politician's image.

Kai Trump, daughter of Donald Trump Jr., gave a short speech on Wednesday evening during the National Republican Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

"I'm speaking today to share the side of my grandpa that people don't often see. To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren't looking. He always wants to know how we're doing in school. When I made the high honor roll, he presented it out to his friends how proud he was of me," - the teenager listed.

It is no secret that Donald Trump is one of the most controversial politicians in the US, not just in recent years but perhaps in the country's entire history. The former president polarizes the world with his views and statements. Remember that he compared migrants to animals and called Kim Jong Un "very nice."

However, the granddaughter tirelessly argued that Trump's image portrayed in the media diverges from reality.

"A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell and he’s still standing. Grandpa, you are such an inspiration and I love you. The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person, but I know him for who he is. He’s very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country and he will fight every single day to make America great again" - she said to thousands of Republicans.

Kai Trump is the child of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump. The US presidential candidate has welcomed 10 grandchildren, and 17-year-old Kai is the oldest.

The teenager is increasingly comfortable in the spotlight. She participated in numerous events during her grandfather's presidency, including Trump’s inauguration and the White House Easter egg hunt. Now, she accompanies him during events related to the ongoing campaign.

Only time will tell if she wants to pursue a professional political career. For now, she is primarily an avid golfer, which she talks about on social media. Over 150,000 people follow her Instagram account. Apart from snippets of her golfing, the teenager also shows behind-the-scenes moments of her grandfather's presidential campaign.
