Israel's latest Lebanon incursion: Casualties and conflict update
Concerning information from the Middle East: According to state media in Lebanon, on Saturday, the Israeli army advanced approximately 3 miles into the country. This marks the farthest incursion since early October when Israeli soldiers first crossed the border into Lebanon following the latest escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah.

As reported by the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), Israeli troops clashed with Hezbollah fighters. During the fighting, they captured a strategic hill located in the town of Chamaa, after which they withdrew to their original positions. According to Lebanon's health ministry, at least six people were killed, including three children. Eleven people were injured.
Air raids accompany the ground action. Israel has been shelling the southern outskirts of Beirut for nearly a week. Earlier, air raids were also conducted in central and eastern Lebanon. There is currently no information about casualties.
On Saturday morning, Israeli rockets also fell near archaeological sites around the city of Tyre, where Roman-era ruins are being studied. This site is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Two doctors lost their lives there.
The government in Tel Aviv consistently maintains that attacks on targets in Lebanon are part of the fight against Hezbollah terrorists. Among the targets shelled were reportedly a weapons depot and the organization's command centre.
Exchange of fire between Israel and Lebanon
In retaliation for the recent attacks, on Saturday evening, Hezbollah attacked a synagogue in Haifa in northern Israel. There were no fatalities, but two people were injured in the shelling.
