The postal van challenged a Ford Mustang to its place in line. The driver must have been proud to have won the race from the lights but completely forgot that it would be wise to slow down. The police reminded her of that.

Racing at the lights is not that uncommon. The story about a delivery van squaring off against a Mustang might come as a surprise, even more so when it turns out to be a van belonging to the postal service. Add to this a police car standing right behind the duo, and we have the answer to why people in the USA make jokes about Ohio.

The footage recorded by the police camera was published by WRAL station. It is from the statement of the officer who stopped the speeding van that we can learn the whole course of the event.

A Ford Mustang and a courier van stood side by side at the intersection. The driver stated that she did not know who the Ford driver was but decided to respond to his aggressive start when the green light came on.

The police officer admitted that the delivery van moving at such a speed already caught his attention. The person behind the wheel of the Mustang quickly realized that they had a police car on their tail and slowed down, not exceeding the speed limit. However, the van continued to accelerate, reaching a peak speed of up to 105 miles per hour (approximately 170 km/h).

The police stopped the driver. It turned out that she was indeed an employee of USPS, the American postal operator. She is a worker from the Fremont, Ohio branch, and was indeed on duty on the day she was stopped. It was not her best day at work.

The controlling officer turned out to be lenient. Ultimately, the 28-year-old was fined only 50 dollars for a traffic violation and received a verbal warning for participating in a street race.
