- Thousands of homes in Cuba were damaged as Hurricane Rafael passed over the island — reported the administration of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday. The agricultural sector also suffered significant losses. According to a preliminary assessment by Cuban civil defense, over 400 residential buildings were devastated by strong winds in the capital, Havana. Significant material damage is also reported in other regions of the island.
