Berry season is upon us, so ice cream parlours have introduced flavours featuring forest fruits. Yesterday, I couldn't resist trying one myself. They were said to be made from fresh fruits and delicious and aromatic. However, they fell short of perfection. I forgot that such ice creams can be made quickly at home.

Fruit ice creams are pretty popular during the summer season. The strawberry-flavoured ones have the most fans. However, my favourite is blueberry.
Short ingredient list
You can quickly prepare blueberry ice cream at home, even if you don't have a particular machine for this type of dessert. Why is it worth doing? Let's face it: if it's going to be ice cream and not sorbet, it will have some calories. However, the advantage of homemade ice cream is that it has a short ingredient list without any flavour enhancers. It's a real treat for enthusiasts of intense blueberry flavour!
Blueberries have numerous benefits
Blueberries are most associated with trendy blueberry pastries. However, they are suitable for many desserts, smoothies, pancakes, or dumplings. Although their prices aren't low, especially at the beginning of the season, it's worth eating them as often as possible. They are frequently called superfoods. They are primarily natural antibiotics. They prevent the multiplication of bacteria and viruses. They also support the digestive system. They speed up digestion and help detoxify the body by removing harmful metabolic products. Blueberries have numerous health benefits and even positively affect the skin. This is mainly thanks to vitamins and fruit acids. They hydrate, smooth, and brighten the skin.
They need time
Homemade ice creams are prepared quickly, but they are a dessert for the patient. They will be ready only after six hours. If you want to eat them sooner, you can prepare them in small containers or on sticks. Then they will be ready in just three hours. Ice cream from this recipe is creamy and intensely blueberry.
Homemade blueberry ice cream
Ingredients:
- 480 grams of blueberries,
- 240 millilitres of 30 percent cream,
- 200 grams of sugar.
Preparation method:
- Rinse the blueberries and pick out leaves and stems. Blend the fruits smoothly using a blender, for example.
- Place the chilled cream in a tall container. Beat it with a mixer at a low speed initially, then gradually increase the speed.
- After a few minutes, add the sugar spoon by spoon while continuing to mix. The sugar should be dissolved entirely.
- Add some whipped cream to the bowl with the blended blueberries. Mix everything thoroughly with a spoon. Add the rest of the cream and stir again.
- Transfer the mixture to a container with a lid and place it in the freezer.
- After 2 hours of freezing, blend the ice cream again. After another four hours, they should be ready. If the ice cream stays in the freezer longer, take it out before serving. They may be very frozen.
