Heidi Klum's fashion hit and miss at Cannes: the neckline flop
She looked phenomenal at the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival 2024. But a steep fall can happen from the top. At Wednesday’s charity gala, Heidi Klum showcased herself in a white gown that looked terrible, mainly due to the neckline. It’s not about the female body but the boundaries of good taste, style, and sense of fashion.

Heidi Klum doesn’t miss the biggest industry events. So probably no one was surprised when the model appeared at the Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony. On the red carpet, she dazzled in a beautiful red ball gown by Lebanese designer Saiid Kobeisy. In this Disney-like creation, she had no equal.
However, it should be noted that the model rarely opts for classics and rather has a taste for fashion extravagance, which unfortunately often works against her. That was the case with the gown she chose for the Knights of Charity gala, which took place on May 22 in Cannes. It’s the best proof that Heidi Klum has alternating highs and lows in her fashion career, and her taste and stylist advice leaves much to be desired.
Heidi Klum overdid it with the neckline not for the first time
Heidi Klum appeared in a white gown with two parts joined by a jewelled detail. And while the mermaid cut and train defended themselves, the top was alarming.
The model and “America’s Got Talent” judge’s creation featured long sleeves in the upper section and a maximally deep neckline that was just asking for a mishap. Additionally, the material pieces surrounding the bust were unflatteringly sticking out. Although this was certainly an intentional effect, the gown gave the impression of being just poorly tailored.
The back of the gown saved the situation
The biggest plus of Heidi Klum’s white gown was the back, which exposed the back and also impressed with its train and jeweled strands flowing to the ground. If the photographers only took such pictures, there would essentially be nothing to criticize.
