Donald Trump's team quickly responded to the Ann Selzer and "Des Moines Register" poll, which shows Kamala Harris leading in the traditionally Republican state of Iowa. The former president's associates presented another poll demonstrating Trump's significant lead.

Nearing the presidential elections in the U.S., Kamala Harris is leading in Iowa, a state previously seen as a Republican stronghold.
According to Ann Selzer's and "Des Moines Register" Saturday poll, Harris leads in the agricultural state over Trump with a margin of 47 to 44 percent. This represents a significant change from the September poll, where Trump led 47 percent to 43 percent.
Harris can count on women's votes
As noted by the "Des Moines Register," a Harris victory in Iowa would be a "shocking event" given Iowa's hard-right turn in recent elections.
The main factor aiding the Democratic candidate is the support of politically independent women who are concerned about Trump's potential return to power. Harris leads among these women by 28 percentage points.
Immediate reaction from Trump's team
Trump's team immediately reacted to the surprising poll. Republican candidate associates released the results of an Emerson College poll. "It reflects the state of the actual Iowa electorate and does so with far more transparency in its methodology," stated the campaign's website.
The Emerson College poll conducted in Iowa indicated a similar significant victory for Trump, 53 to 43 percent. The same survey on the eve of the 2020 election showed only a two-point lead for Trump over Biden.
In 2016 and 2020, Trump won in the agricultural state of Iowa by margins of 10 and 8 percentage points, respectively.
