The Israeli Ministry of Defense transmitted the information about the "elimination" of a key Hamas commander.
It was supposed to be a "precise", and planned attack.
"Tehran Times" published on its profile the moment of the attack on the place where Mohammed Deif was present on July 13. Israeli fighter jets attacked the area of Khan Yunis at that time.
Who was Deif?
Mohammed Deif has led the Kassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, since 2002. Israel holds him responsible for numerous suicide attacks and the killing of dozens of Israeli soldiers and civilians. He was partially responsible for the construction of the extensive system of Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip. Unofficially, it was Deif who helped in planning and then led a large part of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.
As Deutsche Welle writes, it is believed that he survived seven assassination attempts. However, he was seriously injured during them, reportedly losing an eye, a foot, and part of an arm. Several members of his family were killed in attacks aimed at Deif. Deif never appeared publicly. His only known photo is from 2000. For years, he is said to have spent each night in a different house to protect himself from Israeli attacks.
