It's hard not to notice that in the era of social media, a much larger group of stars is exposed to a reputational crisis. Internet users are increasingly sharing their experiences with celebrities in great detail through online platforms. Particular attention is given to those not-so-great encounters where idols turned out to be rude and lost favour with their loyal fans. Several months ago, Jennifer Lopez found herself under fire for this reason.
Recently, PR specialists from the teams of Blake Lively and Anne Hathaway have been busy. A storm was caused online by revelations from Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa, who interviewed both actresses years ago and did not remember them fondly. The stars treated the journalist in a particularly dismissive manner, refused to answer her questions, and were capricious and unkind.
Celebrity hairstylist recalls nightmare collaboration with Blake Lively and Anne Hathaway
Shortly after the archival footage of the ill-fated interview emerged, Anne Hathaway apologized to the reporter, trying to salvage her good name. The scandal died down, but it seems the actress may be in trouble again. This time, a well-known Hollywood hairstylist spoke about her allegedly unpleasant demeanour in the podcast "What It Was Like." Emanuel Miller, in a recent interview, admitted that working with Blake Lively was challenging, but it was Anne Hathaway who left the worst impression on him.
When we talk about Blake Lively, we also have to mention Anne Hathaway. We worked together on a film, and it was one of my worst experiences. Anne never treated me like a human; for about four months, she treated me like a servant. When we were on the set in Los Angeles, my daughter was Anne's stand-in, and I personally took care of her hair every day. She never asked about my daughter, whether I have other children, or how long I've been married. We never had any personal conversation. With Cate Blanchett, it was completely different; I knew her family, and she knew mine, just like with Johnny Depp or Tom Hanks. With Blake Lively, when I met her, I thought to myself: "Oh no, is this going to be another Anne Hathaway?" From the beginning, she was very dismissive - the celebrity hairstylist recalled.
