Gal Gadot revealed that during her pregnancy, she underwent emergency surgery that saved her life. "This year has been one of profound challenges and deep reflections, and I’ve wrestled with how, or even if, to share a personal story," writes the "Wonder Woman" actress.
Gal Gadot, known for her role in "Wonder Woman," shared the dramatic story she experienced during her last pregnancy. In February, already in her eighth month, she was diagnosed with a blood clot in her brain. For weeks, the actress suffered from severe headaches that forced her to stay in bed. Only an MRI revealed how serious the situation was.
Life-saving surgery for Gal Gadot
Gadot, just before the end of the year, posted an emotional entry on Instagram, sharing a photo of a newborn. She described what she went through before her little girl came into the world. "For weeks, I had endured excruciating headaches that confined me to bed, until I finally underwent an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth. In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be. It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change, and in the midst of a difficult year, all I wanted was to hold on and live," she wrote.
After the diagnosis, Gal Gadot was immediately taken to the hospital, where she underwent surgery. During this time, her daughter Ori was born. The girl's name, meaning "my light," was no coincidence. Gadot emphasized that Ori was a light for her in a difficult moment.
The actress thanked the staff at Cedars Sinai Hospital for their care and support. She is now fully healthy and grateful for a second chance at life. Gadot emphasized the importance of listening to your body. Pain and discomfort can be signals of more serious problems. She pointed out that brain clots, though rare, can occur in women during pregnancy after 30. Early detection is crucial, as the condition is treatable.
Gal Gadot hopes her story will not scare women but inspire them to take care of their health. "If even one person feels compelled to take action for their health because of this story, it will have been worth sharing," the actress wrote on Instagram.
In 2008, Gal married Jaron Varsano, with whom she has four daughters.
