There is a verdict in one of recent most notorious criminal cases. In the circuit court of Florida County, 30-year-old Wade Wilson, also known as "Deadpool," stood trial. The man was sentenced to death for two gruesome murders he committed in October 2019.

The two murders committed in the state of Florida in October 2019 captivated the entire United States. The victims of the cruel and heinous crimes were two women, 35-year-old Kristine Melton and 43-year-old Diane Ruiz. They were killed in cold blood by Wade Wilson, also nicknamed "Deadpool" because of sharing the same name as the Marvel character.

Now, nearly five years after the crimes he committed, Wilson stood trial, facing charges of double murder. During the trial, Judge Nicholas R. Thompson emphasized that the defendant showed no emotions regarding his actions.

"Deadpool" heard the death sentence

Wade Wilson’s murders were classified as first-degree, which in the States means the most severe type of crime. It’s no wonder that everyone on the jury unanimously supported the death penalty. However, when the execution would take place was not specified.

This will likely be decided by the outcomes of other ongoing trials against Wilson. One of them concerns a situation when he attempted to escape while awaiting his verdict.

The case is particularly sensitive because after the release of the murderer’s image, love letters began to flood the prisons where he was held. The judge and prosecutor handling the case also received correspondence regarding Wilson, asking for leniency in sentencing.
