Fire disrupts the maiden voyage of the world's largest cruise ship

Icon of the Seas is rightfully called a floating city. The world's largest cruise ship accommodates a total of 10,000 people onboard. A Royal Caribbean spokesperson confirmed in an interview with CNN that a fire broke out onboard.

Icon of the Seas is the newest member of the Royal Caribbean fleet, which was officially received from the shipyard at the end of November last year. Shortly after that, it embarked on its maiden voyage.

A dangerous incident occurred when the cruise ship was docked in Costa Maya, Mexico. A Royal Caribbean spokesperson confirmed in an interview with CNN that a small fire broke out onboard. As a result of this event, the ship's power was temporarily lost. The crew quickly activated emergency power.

During the incident, announcements onboard warned passengers about what was happening. The spokesperson emphasized that the fire was quickly contained by crew members, who are adequately trained to handle such situations. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the fire did not impact the continuation of the voyage.

However, the spokesperson did not provide details on how the fire started or where the source of the fire was located.
