Fears of financial strain loom as Trump's stance challenges Ukraine
Ukraine may face a significant issue if Western countries stop their financial support. "I think there is a 'plan B,' definitely: halting all payments except military ones," said Ukrainian deputy Nina Yuzhanina.

"The state budget for next year is based on the assumption that Western partners will continue to cover the entire civilian portion of the budget. If financial assistance stops, there will be no way to finance these expenditures," said Ukrainian deputy Nina Yuzhanina in an interview for the Novosti.live channel on YouTube.
The deputy clearly responded to a question about whether there is a 'plan B' in case of external funding termination.
"I think there is a 'plan B,' definitely: halting all payments, except military. We all must come together and be concerned—because this is a state of war that requires unity, finding alternative mechanisms of aid, payments, and restrictions," said Yuzhanina, as reported by the Unian portal.
The Ukrainian deputy criticized the current budget, stating that it is not optimal. She expressed discontent with the increase in road infrastructure costs.
Will the USA stop supporting Ukraine?
Fears about ending support for Ukraine surfaced after Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential elections. On Monday, reports indicated that one of the most significant opponents of supporting Ukraine, Vivek Ramaswamy, is among Trump's candidates for the position of Secretary of State.
Meanwhile, representatives of most European Union countries are reassuring their continued support for Ukraine, both financially and militarily.
"The ten-year security agreement the EU signed with Ukraine in June remains in effect. We have supported, and will continue to support, Ukraine. And we do this not just because we are friendly and generous, but because it is in our interest! Ukraine's security is integral to our security," emphasized Josep Borrell, the EU's foreign policy chief, while visiting Ukraine on Monday.
