Angelina Jolie portrays one of the most influential opera singers of the 20th century, Maria Callas, in the film "Maria." In a conversation with Michael Strahan, she was asked if there was something in her life comparable to Callas's love for singing. The actress replied that it is motherhood. "It's my happiness. You can take everything else away from me. Nothing else matters," she confessed.
Jolie is the mother of six children: Maddox (23 years old), Pax (21 years old), Zahara (19 years old), Shiloh (18 years old), and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. She shares all the children with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
The star revealed that her eldest sons worked with her behind the scenes of the film "Maria," which she described as an "amazing" experience. She recently worked with her daughter Vivienne on the Broadway production of "The Outsiders."
Despite her children growing up in the spotlight due to Jolie and Pitt's high-profile relationship, the actress emphasizes that none of them want to be in front of the camera. "They're quite private," she admitted, particularly highlighting Shiloh as holding it in the highest regard. "They weren't born with privacy, so I hope they can have that as they get older."
Knox made a public appearance
Recently, the "Maleficent" star appeared at the Governors Awards 2024 with her youngest son Knox, marking his first red carpet appearance in three years. PageSix reports that it was Knox who proposed accompanying his mother to this event. "Angelina felt so proud having Knox by her side," an insider said. "He typically prefers to stay out of the spotlight and Angelina respects that decision, but he asked if he could join her, and of course she was thrilled that he wanted to be there."
The Jolie vs. Pitt battle continues
The actors are embroiled in a legal battle over their French winery, Château Miraval. Pitt and Jolie have been in conflict since she filed for divorce in 2016.
After their separation, several of their adult children decided to use only their mother's surname at school and work. Shiloh was the last to legally remove "Pitt" from her name after turning 18 in August.
