FBI confirms lone wolf in New Orleans, no Vegas link
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that the perpetrator of the terrorist attack in New Orleans acted alone. No connections were found with the explosion of a Tesla near Donald Trump's hotel in Las Vegas.
Christopher Wray from the FBI informed that Shamsud-Din Jabbar, responsible for the attack in New Orleans, had no accomplices. The authorities are confident in their assessment based on interrogations and analysis of the attacker's phone and computer data. Initial suspicions of possible accomplices turned out to be incorrect.
During the investigation, two bombs placed by Jabbar in coolers were discovered. Both devices were safely detonated by officers. Authorities confirmed that Jabbar posted videos online pledging allegiance to the Islamic State.
Media also revealed footage from surveillance cameras. They show a white vehicle moving at high speed through the narrow streets of New Orleans.
No connections with the explosion in Las Vegas
The investigation into the Tesla explosion in Las Vegas did not reveal any connections to the attack in New Orleans.
According to the Associated Press, the driver of the car in Las Vegas, Senior Sergeant Matthew Alan Livelsberger, had no ideological motives. He was an active-duty special forces soldier on leave in the USA.
