Minors detained in Russia for alleged bomb plot and arson
The FSB in Yekaterinburg has detained four minors suspected of planning a bomb attack.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the detention of four teenagers in Yekaterinburg who were allegedly planning a bomb attack. This information was reported by Reuters, citing sources in the FSB.
The FSB claims to have seized components intended for constructing an explosive device. The detainees are minors, born in 2007 and 2008.
According to the FSB, the teenagers "shared the views of a banned terrorist organization in Russia" and were planning to detonate the device in a crowded place in Yekaterinburg.
Links to police car arson
Additionally, two of the detainees were allegedly involved in the arson of a police car that occurred on December 22, 2024, at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. The opposition portal Meduza reported that the authorities released video recordings of the detainees.
One of the teenagers admitted that in August 2023, "he became a supporter of right-wing views, subscribed to neo-Nazi channels on Telegram, and then learned from this source that action should be taken against the police".
The Meduza portal emphasized that it is not known under what circumstances the recordings were made.
