Elon Musk continues to solidify his status among the world's wealthiest individuals, consistently expanding his immense fortune. As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index released last week, he has amassed over $270 billion, largely from his shares in the automotive giant Tesla. These shares are appreciating at an impressive rate, resulting in a $33.5 billion increase just last Thursday.
The technology mogul, often dubbed the "modern Midas," is renowned for his impressive business savvy strong opinions and eccentric ideas, which he executes without hesitation. In 2020, he almost overnight disposed of all luxuries, selling five of his residences for hundreds of millions of dollars. Rather than investing in new real estate, he opted for a modest house that belies his significant wealth.
Is Elon Musk planning to bring his entire family together in one place?
According to journalists from the "New York Times," Musk reportedly acquired a residential complex in Austin, Texas, valued at $35 million. To earn such an amount, Elon Musk needs just under 16 hours.
The main part of this purchase is a luxury villa encompassing approximately 1,360 square metres, architecturally resembling grand residences in the Italian region of Tuscany. Directly behind it is an equally impressive property with six bedrooms. The acquisition of two separate residential buildings was allegedly motivated by a desire to provide shelter for the 53-year-old's former partners: Neuralink employee Shivon Zilis, singer Grimes, and their six children together.
Elon Musk offered separate accommodation to his first wife, Justine, who gave birth to twins in 2004 and triplets two years later. The billionaire's eldest child reportedly did not even consider this proposal. As is well-known, their relationship with their father is not on good terms...
Elon Musk denied the media reports
The South African businessman promptly reacted to the news published in the American newspaper. He intimated that he does not intend to strengthen family ties by gathering all his former partners and children in one place.
I don't own, nor am I building a compound in Austin - he assured.
At the same time, the financial mogul clarified his intent to expand his influence in Texas, emphasizing that his motives are strictly business-related.
I do have an idea for a big futuristic art project in the Austin area that would be open to the public but have had too much work to get that going - he confirmed in a statement sent to the Page Six portal.
Elon Musk added that he is not among the readers of the "New York Times," which was the first to report on the ambitious plans of the widely-known father of many children.
