Drone attack targets key Russian port amid tensions
During the night from Friday to Saturday, there was a drone attack on the port in Ust-Luga, one of the largest commercial ports in Russia. The information was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing the Russian channel Astra.
According to the Astra channel, most of the drones that were supposed to attack the Leningrad region were shot down near a terminal belonging to the Russian logistics company Novatrans in Ust-Luga.
The attack caused several windows to be shattered on the premises.
Earlier, the governor of the Leningrad region, Aleksandr Drozdenko, acknowledged the shooting down of four drones and stated that there were no casualties or serious damage.
The airport in St. Petersburg halted operations
For safety reasons, on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET, Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg suspended operations for over two hours. "The airport temporarily does not accept or send flights," one of the representatives informed.
"The flight crews, air traffic controllers, and airport services are taking all necessary actions to ensure flight safety—this is the main priority," he added.
