Many people try to reduce their household bills. Instead of turning everything upside down, it is enough to make small changes to the equipment we already use, such as changing the dishwasher.

We can't avoid washing dishes (even if we really want to). In many households, a dishwasher makes the whole process much easier. However, some believe that using it is associated with enormous costs. Is this the case? Gwilym Snook from the British company AO, which specializes in selling electronic equipment, decided to debunk the myths on this subject in a conversation with "The Sun."

How to reduce bills using a dishwasher?

Not so long ago, dishwashers were only found in the homes of the well-off. However, this has changed. It has long been known that using a dishwasher saves time and money. You can further improve your budget by pressing one of the buttons.

"Using the economy function can save up to 20 percent of energy," said Gwilym Snook.

Many people mistakenly believe that because this mode often requires the dishwasher to work much longer, it is also more expensive. However, the expert admits that nothing could be further from the truth.

"In fact, every eco-setting washes dishes at a lower temperature and uses less water."

A dishwasher cheaper than hand washing?

Many people forgo buying a dishwasher, believing that using it will significantly deplete their wallet. After all, the prices of such devices generally start at around $295 CAD. In addition, there is also the cost for the water used, electricity, and necessary detergents.

Gwilym Snook pointed out that these people are greatly mistaken, especially if someone washes with the faucet running every day.

"According to Energy Saving Trust, hand washing dishes accounts for four percent of water usage in an average household, while dishwashers account for only one percent."
