The Czechs also enjoy indulging in potatoes. It's no wonder, as they are an inexpensive, widely available, and easy-to-prepare vegetable that can be turned into a tasty meal in just a few moments. Bramboraki is a dish you typically wouldn't sprinkle with granulated sugar. It is definitely a proposal for meat fans.

Bramboraki - basic recipe

For Czech potato pancakes, you'll find many recipes suggesting they are quick to make. The potatoes must be grated finely, and you can confidently use a food processor or blender for this purpose. This step speeds up the process. For 1 kilogram of potatoes, you should prepare 1 tablespoon of potato flour, along with simple seasonings such as a bit of marjoram, salt, and pepper to taste. This is the basic version, but often during the frying stage, meat is added to the pancakes.

Bramboraki - what to serve with

Potato pancakes with a pork chop inside are the deluxe version of bramboraki. Thin slices should be slightly pounded, seasoned, and placed on a layer of potato batter in hot oil. Then cover the top with a portion of batter. Fry until golden, ensuring nothing is raw. Adding a side of cucumber salad or sauerkraut to such pancakes gives you a meal that will keep you full for a long time.
