China's massive military complex rivals Pentagon's scale
Agents of the U.S. intelligence services have identified an impressively large military infrastructure in China through satellite images. It was constructed near Beijing. The "Chinese Pentagon" is at least ten times larger than the American one.
The Chinese military complex, built 30 kilometres from the capital, was captured by the Sentinel-2 probe belonging to the European Space Agency. The photographs suggest that the Chinese began implementing the project last year.
The construction of this massive structure began — according to satellite image analysis — in mid-2024. The development covers an area of about 6 square kilometres (or over 840,000 soccer fields).
A Chinese military complex is emerging, to be 10 times larger than the Pentagon
According to the "Financial Times," it's possible that China has installed reinforced bunkers in this complex. They might be intended for command to hide from nuclear attacks.
There's nothing unusual in this Chinese precaution and readiness for nuclear conflict. After all, the People's Republic of China is among the nine countries possessing nuclear weapons.
Lyle Morris from the Asia Society Policy Institute recalls events from the late '60s in China. At that time, Mao Zedong and his closest associates went underground during a severe conflict with the Soviet Union.
The opening of the new military complex near Beijing may occur in 2027. This event will coincide with the centennial of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
