Childish Gambino cancels tour due to health concerns

Through his social media, where over 7.8 million fans follow him, Glover shared news about his health condition. "After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent. After being assesed, it became clear i would not perform that night, and after more tests, i could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked," the artist wrote on his accounts.

In the rest of the post, he shared that he is awaiting surgery, after which he will need time to recover. "As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal. My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously. With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the U.K. and European dates," he added.

Interestingly, Glover had already cancelled some performances in September, citing the need to focus on his health. At that time, he advised fans to hold onto their tickets. However, he has now informed fans about ticket refunds: "Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support," he wrote on platform X.

The tour was set to include 33 performances in the United States, starting from Oklahoma City on August 11 and ending in Chicago on October 3.

Beyond his music career, Glover is also a writer and actor. In 2022, he concluded work on the series Atlanta created for FX station, and this year, he starred alongside Maya Erskine in the Amazon Prime production Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Earlier this year, he also married Michelle White, the mother of his three sons—Legend, Drake, and Donald.
