Chevy Chase, known from the programme "Saturday Night Live" and the "National Lampoon's Vacation" film series, shared a charming photo in which he is holding his little granddaughter in his arms. However, what caught the observers' attention was the visible bruise on his face.

Although the actor seemed unconcerned about the injury, many questions about his well-being appeared in the comments. Some even compared his bruise to a recent injury of Jay Leno.

Addressing the rising curiosity, Chevy's manager playfully remarked to TMZ that the comedian secretly battles crime at night and deserves gratitude for it. He later clarified to fans that the incident was simply a result of Chevy accidentally hitting his head in a hotel while rushing to a meeting.

Fans of the comedian breathed a sigh of relief

Chevy Chase himself did not comment on the situation, but it seems that his fans, once they found out the injury wasn't serious, breathed a sigh of relief. There were also many kind comments about the photo with his granddaughter. Some even wrote that the actor is a "grandfather to the max." "Let's hope the bruise disappears before the holidays!" writes the TMZ portal.

Chevy Chase started his career in show business in 1975 with the aforementioned iconic entertainment programme "Saturday Night Live," not only being one of the stars of the show but also serving as a writer.

During the first season of "SNL," Chase announced almost all the episodes of the programme, and his comedic talent was applauded by "New York" magazine, which called him the "Funniest Man in America."
