Charli xcx enters Sims 4: Playful nod to "Brat"
The global obsession with Charli xcx has now extended to the realm of video games. Fans of The Sims will discover an object referencing the artist and her hit album "Brat".
Brat summer has officially ended, but the mood set by Charli xcx is here to stay. Don't worry, have fun, spend money—to paraphrase a certain politician—that's how we want to live. Forget the grill, house, and two cars; at this stage, our list of desires includes spontaneous trips, cool shoes, a pet to cuddle, a new tattoo, and the occasional enjoyment of flavoured air.
The impact of "Brat" is undeniable—we lived this way all summer. Now the holidays are approaching (with a decidedly green vibe), and the word was even recognized as the Word of the Year by the Collins Dictionary. T-shirts with vague neon prints were a hit in chain stores, and now Charli xcx has entered the world of "The Sims 4". Players have reason to celebrate; while it's not an official collaboration, it's certainly a delightful nod to fans. An Easter egg that only those who pay close attention to details will catch.
Charli’s Apples in The Sims 4: a nod to her iconic song "Apple"
"Someone carefully arranged these fruits on colour-coordinated plates. It's almost irresistible to bite into one of these juicy fruits... Wait!!! Think about the aesthetic!" reads the description of the object called Charli's Apples.
The bowl of apples is part of one of the latest collections for the game—Retro Return. Kits are small expansions that add a few objects in a specific style to either the buy mode or the sim creation mode. The two newest ones, Retro Return and Pajama Party, were not created by regular employees of EA Games, but by Sims fans.
Myshunosun, who designed the objects in Retro Return, is clearly an avid fan of Charli xcx. How else to explain the delightful reference to the artist? Slay.
