Cedar trees are not very demanding, but they require appropriate fertilization and care like any plant. September is the ideal time to provide cedars with the necessary vitamins and minerals to help them grow healthy and dense. One homemade mixture works wonders.

Cedars are found in the gardens of many homes. They are a relatively easy option to maintain. When formed into a hedge, they can separate us from the street or neighbours, providing greater privacy.

September is the best time to care for and strengthen cedars. A simple homemade mix will stop them from browning and make them grow dense like never before.

Homemade fertilizer. Cedars will grow beautifully

Although many products can be found in garden stores, it's worth trying home methods first. The following mixture will not only be cheaper but also more eco-friendly. It will provide cedars with phosphorus, potassium, and other necessary nutrients.

All you need are the peels of four or five bananas. First, cut the peels into smaller pieces, then pour four quarts of hot water over them. Blend everything and leave it for two days. After the designated time, strain the solution from the remnants and use this homemade fertilizer to water the cedars in your garden.

How to care for cedars in September?

The first autumn month is also a good time to prune the cedars last before winter. It's best to start this at the beginning of September so the plant has time to regenerate before low temperatures and frost appear.

Besides pruning, regular, though not abundant, watering is extremely important. This way, the cedar will have time to gather nutrients before winter. This is also an essential step in the care of cedars to prevent physiological drought.
