Although her career is just beginning, Carys has repeatedly appeared on red carpets. Recently, she accompanied her father and brother to the premiere of the documentary America's Burning. Showbiz is deeply rooted in the Douglas family—her older brother Cameron is also an actor who appeared with their father in the 2003 film It Runs In The Family. Her other brother, Dylan, hosts the political talk show "Young American with Dylan Douglas."
Carys already has a few film roles to her credit. She has appeared in short films such as "Shell" and worked as an assistant director on the film "August." In her latest film, "F*ck That Guy," Spike Lee serves as executive producer, and the storyline focuses on the adventure of a young girl trying to get the attention of an older friend.
On her Instagram, Carys shared behind-the-scenes photos of her latest project, commenting: "Some moments from a project I am so proud to be a part of!! :)). F*CK THAT GUY is heading to L.A for @prooffilmfestival by @am_cinematheque to screen Oct. 18-20 !!"
Famous parents warned her
Catherine Zeta-Jones revealed in an interview for "The Drew Barrymore Show" in 2021 that Carys and Dylan are determined to pursue acting. "Their love of the craft of acting is so strong that even when Michael... their brains they are doing politics and history in school, but their passion is acting," Catherine said.
Carys is aware of her family's legacy. Her father, Michael Douglas, warned her she would always be seen as a "daughter." Nevertheless, she and her siblings want to continue their journey in acting.
The careers of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas
Michael Douglas is the son of legendary actor Kirk Douglas. He made his mark in the film world by winning praise as the producer of the Oscar-winning film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975). His acting career flourished thanks to roles in hits like "Fatal Attraction" (1987) and "Wall Street" (1987), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. He also remained busy in the '90s, creating unforgettable performances like those in the 1993 film "Falling Down."
Catherine Zeta-Jones found success in the United Kingdom and dreamed of a career in Hollywood. Her dream came true when Steven Spielberg noticed her in the miniseries "Titanic" (1996) and recommended her for the role of Elena in "The Mask of Zorro" (1998). The film became an international hit and catapulted Zeta-Jones to the top of Hollywood.
