British woman's regret: Medical tourism leads to surgical woes
The body of 26-year-old Leah Mattson changed significantly after she became a mother. She wanted to return to her previous appearance, which led her to explore the option of medical tourism. She greatly regretted it.
Mattson believed that plastic surgery would help her achieve her ideal figure. However, the procedure, which included a tummy tuck, breast lift, and arm lift, did not meet her expectations.
Now, Mattson is dealing with uneven hips, excess skin, large scars, and an asymmetrical navel.
The first procedure Leah underwent in Turkey was a gastric resection. The results were satisfactory. Consequently, she went to Izmir to have a tummy and arm lift. However, in this case, everything went wrong.
Although doctors assured her that things would improve, this did not happen. Ultimately, the clinic offered her additional surgeries, but she refused.
A British woman's nightmare. "I'm shaken"
The British woman shared her postoperative experiences in an interview with "The Mirror." "My stomach is asymmetric. My belly button is way out of place," she said.
My arms still have so much excess skin and I have little parcels of skin at the side of my breasts. I looked much better before my surgery. I am so upset. I contacted the clinic who said they would do more surgery with the same doctor but I was too scared to let them near me again. They refused to give me any money back," she added.
Mattson greatly regretted the second trip to Turkey.
I feel like I've been butchered," she concluded bitterly.
