Renée Zellweger once again plays Bridget Jones, who this time must come to terms with Mark Darcy's death and find love anew. The film is scheduled to premiere on 13 February 2025 on the Peacock platform and will be available in cinemas in Europe.
The first trailer for "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" has just been released online. In this instalment, Bridget faces the difficult experience of losing Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). The trailer shows that Jones has become a widow with two adolescent children.
Two potential partners appear on the horizon. The first is Mr. Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a teacher at her children's school, who seems like the perfect candidate. The second is the young and unpredictable Roxster (Leo Woodall), who, despite a significant age difference, attracts Bridget's attention with his energy.
New film, old cast
The film will feature many familiar faces from previous films. Hugh Grant returns as the charismatic Daniel Cleaver, Jim Broadbent as Bridget's father, Gemma Jones as her mother, Emma Thompson as Dr. Rawlings, as well as Sarah Solemani, Sally Phillips, James Callis, and Shirley Henderson in the roles of Bridget's friends.
The cast also includes new actors: Leila Farzad, Isla Fisher, Josette Simon, and Nico Parker. The film is directed by Michael Morris, known for his work on "Better Call Saul" and "13 Reasons Why". The script is based on the novel by Helen Fielding, who collaborated on it with Abi Morgan and Dan Mazer.
"Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" will debut directly on the Peacock platform in the United States on 13 February 2025, just before Valentine's Day.
