Brad Pitt's lonely holidays: struggles with family ties
Brad Pitt misses contact with his children during the upcoming Christmas holidays. The actor fears that the holidays "won’t be the same" if he doesn't spend time with family. This is all happening amid his ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have six children: biological - Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, and adopted - Maddox, Pax, and Zahara. The couple, known as "Brangelina," got together in 2006, married in 2014, and separated in 2016, which began a tumultuous custody and property dispute.
Pitt is currently separated from his children, some of whom have legally renounced his last name, including Shiloh after turning 18 in May this year. In July, Pax had a motorcycle accident, and the actor couldn't visit him in the hospital.
His upcoming 61st birthday (December 18) and Christmas make him feel the lack of contact with his offspring particularly keenly.
Brad is missing his kids and wishes he had a closer relationship with them, particularly with celebrating the holidays and his birthday this month, revealed a source quoted by "Daily Mail".
The actor has been dating Ines De Ramon, a jewellery industry executive, for two years. "Pitt is said to be 'thankful he has an amazing partner,' whom the source described as 'supportive,' adding that 'Brad is looking forward to ringing in the new year with her,'" adds the Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Jolie appeared with their son Knox on the red carpet during the Governors Awards, which Pitt interpreted as an attempt to "push his buttons," particularly since a court recently ruled that their dispute over the French vineyard Château Miraval will go to trial.
The love story and ongoing conflicts
Pitt and Jolie met on the set of the movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in 2005, when the actor was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 after an incident on a private plane involving their son Maddox. The FBI then investigated reports of alleged physical aggression by Pitt towards his son, but the proceedings ended without any charges being filed.
The former spouses are still fighting over the Château Miraval vineyard, which they jointly acquired. Jolie sold her half to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler for $62 million CAD in 2021. Pitt sued her, claiming she should have obtained his consent before selling, according to their agreement.
Despite ongoing disputes, Jolie is currently linked to British rapper Akala, with whom she has been seen publicly several times. Pitt, on the other hand, is focusing on his new relationship and trying to rebuild connections with his children.
