U.S. President Joe Biden spoke after the debate with Donald Trump. According to commentators, the debate was particularly unfavourable for the re-election-seeking Biden. Nevertheless, the incumbent president stated, "I intend to win this election."

"I know I’m not a young man. I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to. But I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done. I know what millions of Americans know. When you get knocked down, you get back up," said Joe Biden, quoted by Reuters.

"I intend to win the election," he concluded. "The stakes are too high. Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation, a threat to freedom, a threat to democracy and a threat to everything America stands for," argued the incumbent president, insisting that I give my word as a Biden that I would not be running if I didn't believe with all my heart and soul that I can do this job."

Did Biden fail in the debate?

On Thursday evening on CNN, Biden and Trump clashed during their first presidential debate. The incumbent president was judged critically, and in the first poll after the clash, 67% of those watching the presidential debate in the U.S. considered Donald Trump won.

Biden also failed to dispel doubts about his health. He came to the debate hoarse, and his speech was sometimes not fluid. During his statements, he sometimes stumbled and did not use all the allotted time.

During the appearance, the president's advisers conveyed that the president was struggling with a cold.
