An event related to the election campaign of the current President of the United States took place in Los Angeles over the weekend. Among the guests were Hollywood stars such as Barbra Streisand, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney. Joe Biden received support in his race to the White House.

The presidential elections in the USA are approaching rapidly. If there isn't a sudden turn of events, Americans will again choose between Joe Biden (Democrats) and Donald Trump (Republicans) at the polls at the beginning of November.

The election campaign is gaining momentum. The first candidate debate will occur on CNN on June 27 at 9:00 PM EDT. Joe Biden held such an event in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Among the guests at the event were Hollywood stars like George Clooney and Julia Roberts. Over $40,000,000 CAD was raised for the continuing campaign of the incumbent president. For comparison, Donald Trump raised $67,000,000 CAD during an April meeting with major donors in Florida.

Television presenter Jimmy Kimmel hosted Saturday's gala. He interviewed Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama. During the conversation, both politicians emphasized the necessity of the Republican candidate.

President Biden appealed to voters to "remember what it was like" when Donald Trump served as president and resided in the White House.

The venue where the gala took place was heavily guarded by police units in full gear. A protest against Biden's administration's policies on the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip also occurred near the event location, according to the Associated Press.

Donald Trump's campaign spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, criticized Joe Biden, accusing him of raising funds "with out-of-touch elitist Hollywood celebrities."
