How to take care of the oven?
Grease buildup and burnt residues are unavoidable when using an oven. To maintain the appliance in good condition and keep our dishes aromatic, regular cleaning is essential. High temperatures make residues hard to remove, turning cleaning into a dreaded task. It doesn't have to be that way; simply wipe the glass with a damp cloth and dish detergent after each use to prevent dirt from drying.
When cleaning old grime, never use sharp tools or abrasive sponges, as they can damage the delicate surface. Opt for a cloth or a soft sponge, and for hard-to-reach places, use a toothbrush or a cosmetic pad.
Homemade mixtures for oven dirt
To make your oven shine, you can use natural and inexpensive methods that quickly remove streaks, stains, and burns. However, to avoid burns, ensure the oven is no longer hot before each cleaning session.
1. Cleaning paste. For just a few dollars, you can make this cleaner yourself. Sprinkle baking soda on the glass or wall, then clean the surfaces with a halved lemon. Leave this mixture for up to 30 minutes, making dirt easier to wipe away. For better results, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid.
2. Cleaning spray. Fill a spray bottle with equal parts vinegar and water. Spray the entire interior with this solution and clean with a sponge. Finally, wipe the entire surface with a damp cloth.
3. Aluminum foil rolled into a ball can help remove stubborn dried stains. Apply some baking soda and squeezed lemon, then scrub the walls or pan with circular motions.
4. A dishwasher tablet is an effective product for cleaning the oven. Place the tablet on a tray and fill it halfway with hot water. Put the tray in a preheated oven at 100°C and leave it for 2 hours with the oven turned off. The high temperature will dissolve the tablet in the water, allowing everything to be easily wiped with a damp cloth.
