Attack on Morozovsk air base leaves Russian military in ruins
Ukrainian media have published new photos showing the consequences of the attack on the Russian military base in Morozovsk. "There was a warehouse - now there is no warehouse. The aircraft weapons turned into scrap and ash," the report states. Ukrainian intelligence admitted to the attack on Monday.

Ukrainians attacked the Russian Morozovsk air base in the Rostov region overnight from Friday to Saturday.
Morozovsk base attacked
Satellite images confirm that as a result of the Ukrainian forces' attack, a Su-34 combat aircraft and aviation weaponry depots were completely destroyed, the Ukrainian Military Intelligence (HUR) reported on Monday.
"Space reconnaissance data shows that on August 3, 2024, as a result of a strike, a Su-34 fighter-bomber was destroyed at the military airfield (...) 'Morozovsk' in the Rostov region," HUR declared on Telegram.
Two similar machines at the same airfield were probably damaged by shrapnel, as indicated by blast craters nearby. The aviation weaponry depot was completely destroyed, as indicated by fire marks at the airfield, and four technical buildings and two hangars were also destroyed, the statement explained.
Russian base turned into "scrap and ash"
On Tuesday, Ukrainian media published new photos from the explosion site. "There was a warehouse – now there is no warehouse. The photo shows that the aircraft weapons turned into scrap and ash," commented TSN station.
Ukrainian intelligence did not reveal what weapon was used for the attack on Morozovsk. They emphasized that this Russian airbase is located 265 kilometers from the front line.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the attack on Morozovsk in the Rostov region on Saturday morning. In the statement issued at that time, it was reported that three ammunition warehouses were hit, where guided air bombs were stored, among other things. The General Staff also reported that oil and fuel depots in the Russian Belgorod, Kursk, and Rostov regions were attacked.
