Anticipation builds as Taylor Swift fans await 'Reputation' release update

On August 17, the sixth Taylor Swift concert in London took place. Many people eagerly await the artist to announce when she will release her version of one of her most beloved albums, "Reputation." Some thought it would happen on Saturday, all because of the singer herself.

Taylor Swift played a trick on her fans and didn't announce the album.

Taylor Swift is currently the most popular and influential person in music. We regularly hear about broken streaming records and the enormous success of her worldwide tour, "The Eras Tour." The American star has prepared for fans a show lasting over three hours, during which she sings songs from her latest album and her nearly twenty-year career. Every week, the largest stadiums gather tens of thousands of fans to experience something unique.

During the over three-hour concert, Taylor Swift sings as many as 44 songs, which can be easily found, for instance, on Spotify. Anyone attending the show can check out what to expect. However, one short segment lasts just a few minutes during the performance. During this segment, Taylor Swift performs so-called surprise songs. It is one of the most anticipated moments. During the sixth concert in London, she chose a song that gave hope that she would announce "Rep (Taylor's Version)."

Taylor Swift sang "I Did Something Bad." And what happened? Nothing

As a reminder, Taylor Swift is re-recording her albums because her former manager, Scooter Braun, sold her rights to her own songs. She does this to ensure that everything she has ever written and sung belongs solely to her. Fans have already received "Fearless (Taylor's Version)," "Red (Taylor's Version)," "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," and "1989 (Taylor's Version)." So, the new versions of "Reputation" and the artist's debut album are yet to be released. It is the former that fans are waiting for the most.

Many fans theorized that if Taylor Swift sang "I Did Something Bad" during the acoustic segment, she would undoubtedly announce "Reputation (Taylor's Version)." This is because of the artist's iconic performance during the tour of that album. The live performance has gone down in history because the song sounded completely different from its studio version. Many people believe these were some of Taylor Swift's best performances.

"I Did Something Bad" was the last song from "Reputation" that Taylor hadn't sung during "The Eras Tour." This is why fans strongly believed in the aforementioned conspiracy theory. On August 17, the singer grabbed her guitar and said she was excited because she hadn't sung the song she was about to perform in a long time. When the audience at Wembley realized what they were getting, they went wild. They started recording, hoping to get a release date for "Reputation (Taylor's Version). Their surprise was immense when, after singing, she put the guitar down and walked to the piano.

Most fans believe that the new version of "Reputation" will be announced at the last concert in London, on Tuesday, August 20. It is unknown if the latest theory will come true. The only thing one can do now is simply wait, which is undoubtedly not easy.
