Android Auto glitch: Google Assistant adds unexpected sighs
Android Auto has introduced another "feature" for drivers. Recently, the system has been unexpectedly reading messages, sometimes adding a sigh at the end of a sentence. A discussion on Reddit reveals that this issue occurs exclusively with messages received through WhatsApp chats.
Android Auto has often faced challenges, particularly with voice control. The latest glitch involves unexpected readings of incoming messages. Google Assistant appears to add a sigh at the end of statements, which users have noted over the past few days. An analysis indicates that the problem only arises with messages from WhatsApp, as reported by 9to5Google, based on recent Reddit discussions.
It remains unclear what causes this issue or how it can be resolved. As is often the case with voice control issues, updating both Android Auto and the Google app might help. If these measures prove ineffective, drivers must be patient and wait for a server-side fix or the next Android Auto update (which we expect any day now).
Fortunately, this glitch does not prevent users from replying to messages or understanding their content. It's worth noting that years ago, a problem with incorrect language interpretation in messages caused Google Assistant to malfunction, effectively disabling voice control in Android Auto for a significant period.
Unfortunately, resolving the issue took an extended period back then, and drivers experiencing the problem had to cope with limitations for many weeks. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved much more quickly. After all, this glitch does not render the app unusable as it did in 2020, several Android Auto updates ago.
