Ancient Phoenician shipwreck found intact off Spanish coast
A groundbreaking discovery has taken place off the coast of Murcia, Spain. Near the city of Mazarrón, the wreck of a Phoenician ship from 2,600 years ago has been uncovered. "It is one of the most important ancient ships found intact in the world," said Carmen Maria Conesa, head of the Murcia Department of Culture.
They retrieved the famous ship from the sea. It is over 2,500 years old.

The wreck, named Mazarrón II, dates back to 610-580 B.C., is about 8 metres long and 2 metres wide, and was loaded with lead ingots.
A special team, overseen by the University of Valencia, began the process of recovering the wreck in September 2024. Using advanced technology, including 3D modelling, divers carefully retrieved the ship's delicate remains.
They also found ceramics and remains of the anchor.
