As emphasized by CNN, a woman at the French safari zoo, was attacked on Sunday by several wolves after entering a part of the zoo where only cars are allowed.
Fortunately, the medical staff intervened very quickly and we managed to save the person - said the zoo director, Christelle Bercheny, at a press conference.
The attack took place around 3:30 AM Eastern Time in the Thoiry zoo park in Yvelines, about 50 kilometres west of Paris.
After spending the night in the park, the 37-year-old woman went for a run and accidentally entered the safari zone - TF1 reported, adding that it was an area of about 7 hectares, where animals, including wolves and bears, roam freely.
The wolves "pounced" on the woman while she was running. She sustained "serious" injuries and bites to her neck, calf, and back. The woman was hospitalized in the nearest hospital, and her condition "stabilized." The zoo launched an investigation into the matter.
A popular spot on the map of France
Thoiry is one of the most popular wildlife parks in France. About 800 animals kept there can move freely, and visitors observe them from safe vehicles.
The park offers accommodation near the wolves and bears enclosures, and the area has electric fences and moats for protection.
