Error 0x8002802B is another issue that some Windows 11 users may notice after installing the optional KB5039302 package. Based on user reports, Microsoft has noticed the problem and applied the KIR mechanism to roll back the problematic update.

Neowin describes the details of the matter. Error 0x8002802B concerns the Windows Update Agent API, which may be used by advanced users running PowerShell or VBScript scripts in some cases. As a result of the error, users receive empty responses to queries regarding specific objects that do not reflect reality.

Consequently, the scripts cannot function correctly. Microsoft temporarily solved the issue by using the Known Issue Rollback option to enable the retraction of the faulty patch from computers. As established, the glitch may appear in Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2 after installing the optional KB5039302 package from mid-June. Considering its nature, it should not be a problem for most typical users.

However, they may struggle with other Windows 11 errors caused by the KB5039302 package. According to Windows Latest, known issues include those related to the taskbar and a reboot loop of the entire system, which is highly likely to occur on computers with virtualization software installed.

For now, it is unknown when the issues will be properly removed from Windows 11. In practice, however, it can be expected that this will not happen sooner than the second half of the month , when subsequent optional updates usually arrive in Windows Update.
