The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden has given the green light for Ukraine to use American weapons in attacks on targets in Russia. The decision was conveyed during a phone conversation between U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on November 12th.

A day after the decision was announced, Ukrainian forces attacked an ammunition depot in the Bryansk region, approximately 180 kilometres from the Ukrainian border. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin altered the nuclear doctrine, lowering the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons in the event of an attack supported by a nuclear power.

Ukraine can attack Russia. Poles "in favour"

A survey by SW Research for "Rzeczpospolita" shows that 40.9% of Poles support the U.S. decision, 21.6% oppose it, and 29.4% have no opinion. 8% of respondents were unaware of the decision.

The U.S. decision to support Ukraine in operations on Russian soil has elicited varied reactions on the international stage. In Poland, as the survey shows, opinions are divided, but the majority of those surveyed view it positively. "Wiadomości Onet" emphasizes that this situation could affect further international relations and the stability of the region.
