However, few people notice the small inside hole, usually on the back wall. It serves an essential function and requires regular cleaning. What hole are we talking about?

This is a drain hole that allows for the free flow of water. Thanks to it, water does not settle on the food or freeze on the wall. It protects the interior of the fridge, preventing premature food spoilage. The hole should have constant access to air. Food will not function properly if covered by food, negatively affecting the refrigerator's operation.

Unpleasant smells from the fridge are a problem in many homes. This results from various factors, such as improper food storage or lack of regular cleaning. A contaminated hole can also contribute to the formation of foul odour. How do you clean it? It's straightforward. You only need two ingredients—baking soda and vinegar, such as white vinegar or citric acid.
Start by unplugging the fridge and removing all food products from it. When the appliance reaches room temperature, thoroughly wash the fridge with vinegar or citric acid water. After thoroughly cleaning the fridge, focus on the hole. Put gloves on your hands and remove any debris from it.
Boil 1 litre of water and add 80 millilitres of vinegar and baking soda. The solution will start to fizz. This is entirely natural and will subside after a few minutes. Pour the prepared mixture into a large syringe and spray it inside the hole. Finally, dry it off with a paper towel.
