The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the detention of two Ukrainian citizens who were acting on behalf of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). Their task was to locate bases where F-16 aircraft and combat helicopters, which Ukraine received from Western countries, were stationed.

Detention of agents

"As a result of a special operation near a Ukrainian military airfield, two Russian agents were caught in the act photographing the takeoff of an F-16 aircraft," declared the Security Service of Ukraine. The detainees are two residents of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region, aged 22 and 21.

According to the SBU, the young men were recruited by a female FSB officer who has already been identified. Their task was to gather coordinates of airfields and aviation infrastructure, which would enable subsequent missile and drone attacks by Russia. They were exposed at the initial stage of their task execution.

The SBU's investigation materials will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office. The detainees face a life sentence for treason during martial law, along with the confiscation of property.
