Ukrainian forces strike Russian military base, sink fuel ferry
Ukrainians struck a Russian military platoon base in the Kursk region in southwestern Russia. "This is what an airstrike using GBU-39 precision-guided bombs looks like," conveyed the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, General Mykola Oleshchuk, on social media, attaching a recording to the post. The GBU-39 is an American glide bomb.

According to Oleshchuk, "they hit a drone command point, an electronic warfare unit, equipment, weapons, and up to 40 Russian soldiers."
Allies, including the United States, provide Ukrainian forces with weapons but have imposed restrictions on how and when they can be used on Russian territory out of fear that such attacks could provoke retaliation, potentially dragging NATO countries into the war.
On Wednesday, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are using American HIMARS rocket systems to destroy pontoon bridges and engineering equipment in the Kursk region. Thanks to this, Russian forces are facing significant logistical issues.
Massive strike. Ukrainians sank a Russian ferry
In the last few hours, Ukrainians also succeeded in the port of Kavkaz in the Krasnodar Krai in southwestern Russia. A railway ferry attacked by Ukrainian forces, carrying 30 fuel tankers, sank there.
The propaganda agency RIA Novosti wrote, quoting rescue services, that five people were aboard the vessel at the time of the attack, and their fate is unknown. The Telegram channel Baza, however, reported that 15 people were on the ferry. Port workers were evacuated.
The Meduza service, referring to the Telegram channel Krymsky Veter, wrote that a Ukrainian missile hit the ferry.
