Ukrainian drones ignite fires at Russian oil terminals
Overnight from Monday to Tuesday, there was a drone attack in the Rostov region of Russia. Unofficial media reports suggest that it was an operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Satellite images documenting the aftermath of the strike have appeared online.
The photos, published by Radio Free Europe (Radio Svoboda), show the effects of the Ukrainian drone attack on an oil refinery.
"The satellite detected damage to the oil storage tanks at the Azovproduct terminal—this terminal handles up to 66,000 tonnes of oil products monthly," informs UNIAN agency.
Attack in Russia: "Successful SBU operation"
Nighttime fires at two Russian fuel bases in the Rostov region in southwestern Russia are the result of a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ukrainian media reported on Tuesday, citing sources within the service.
- Following the successful operation using drones, intense fires broke out at the facilities - an Interfax-Ukraine agency contact said.
According to the account, the Azov and Azovneftproduct oil bases were attacked, which collectively have 22 fuel storage tanks.
- The SBU will continue to impose "drone sanctions" on the Russian refinery complex and thus reduce the economic potential of the adversary, which provides it with the means to wage war against Ukraine - the source, quoted by the Ukrainska Pravda portal, stated.
The governor of the Rostov region, Vasiliy Golubev, announced on Telegram that more than 200 firefighters and 39 fire engines were dispatched to the fire site. He noted that no one was injured in the attack.
