Ukraine uses HIMARS to down advanced Russian reconnaissance system

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have shot down the latest Russian reconnaissance system, the 1K148 Jastreb-AW. They succeeded in using the HIMARS system. A recording of the action was posted online.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out an operation behind Russian lines in the Donetsk sector. Using the HIMARS system, they shot down the latest Russian reconnaissance system, the 1K148 Jastreb-AW.

The video was shot by the 14th UAV Regiment and shared on Telegram by the Head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak.

This is a significant loss for the Russians. The system helped detect Ukrainian howitzers, mortars, and artillery systems such as HIMARS.

Ukraine shoots down Russian reconnaissance drones

Ukrainian air defence also reported its latest achievements. They shot down 17 strike drones and eight reconnaissance drones that Russian forces used to attack Ukraine during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, reported Air Force Commander General Mykola Oleschuk.

"A total of 23 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles were detected, piloted by radio and technical forces. As a result of the air combat, 17 enemy drones were shot down. Most of them were shot down in the Odessa region," stated the general in a social media post.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed at least eight Russian reconnaissance drones.
