Ukraine enforces nationwide power outages amid energy crisis
Due to a significant energy shortage, the Ukrainian state operator Ukrenerho announced emergency power outages across the country on Wednesday morning and earlier on Tuesday evening. This shortage followed Russian attacks on power plants and a decrease in temperature.

"From 12:40 AM to 3:00 AM Eastern Time, the Ukrenerho distribution center executed controlled emergency power cut-offs for industrial and residential customers in all regions of Ukraine," was reported on Telegram.
Energy deficit in Ukraine
The announcement detailed that this action was taken in response to an increase in the energy deficit, which was contributed to by the drop in air temperature and damages to energy infrastructure from Russian shelling.
Supply limitations on Tuesday evening resulted in power outages in cities like Lviv, located near the border with Poland, as reported by the city's mayor, Andrij Sadovy.
In Lviv, emergency power cuts have been implemented. Currently, part of the city remains without power – the mayor shared.
