Ukraine defends against drone barrage in latest Russian assault
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine. Kyiv's air defence shot down 28 out of 74 different types of assault drones used by the Russian military. Forty-six drones lost communication due to effective electronic warfare actions.
"The enemy attacked with 74 Shahed strike drones and other types of drones (launch areas: Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation)," reads the statement from the Ukrainian Air Force.
Russian air attack on Ukraine: 28 drones shot down
"Air defence missile units, electronic warfare, and mobile shooting groups of the Air Force and Defence Forces of Ukraine shot down 28 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Forty-six drones lost communication," added the Ukrainian services statement.
According to the information provided by the Ukrainian Air Force, the debris of a downed drone damaged homes and private property in the town of Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Assistance is being provided to the affected individuals.
