Ubisoft, a renowned video game producer, has announced a restructuring that will impact 185 employees. According to Reuters, the company will close the studio in Leamington and reorganize units in Düsseldorf and Stockholm. These changes aim to optimize costs and concentrate on key projects.

Challenges for the video game giant: Ubisoft at a crossroads

Ubisoft has struggled with issues, including production delays and disappointing sales performance. For example, the game Star Wars Outlaws did not meet sales expectations. Previously, in December 2023, the company closed studios in San Francisco and Osaka, leading to the layoff of 277 people.

Despite these challenges, Ubisoft is preparing for the release of a new game in the Assassin’s Creed series. Assassin’s Creed Shadows, scheduled for launch at 3 PM Eastern Time on March 20th, aims to help the company regain its standing in the market. Ubisoft, founded in 1986, is known for popular series like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry.
