Trump's peace proposal suggests Ukraine exit NATO path

Although Trump has abandoned his plan to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours, he still aims to halt the fighting on the front lines as soon as possible. The media have obtained a plan according to which everything would be resolved by Easter.

The investigative service "Meduza" reports on the matter, stating that Trump's peace plan reached Ukrainian journalists through European diplomats.

What does Trump's plan entail?

The first step involves a conversation between Trump and Vladimir Putin at the end of January and the beginning of February. The Ukrainian authorities will discuss further actions. The next step is to revoke Zelensky's decree banning negotiations with Putin.

Meanwhile, at the end of February and the beginning of March, a meeting between Trump, Zelensky, and Putin is supposed to take place, where "the basic parameters of the peace plan" are to be approved.

The ceasefire is to be concluded on April 20, Easter Sunday. Ukrainians will be required to withdraw from Kursk. By the end of April, a peace conference is to be held where the United States will oversee negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. A role has also been provided for China. Peace is to be agreed upon by May 9.

Will Ukraine forgo NATO?

According to the document, Ukraine is to forgo NATO membership and join the European Union in 2030. The plan also includes rebuilding the war-torn country with EU funds. Additionally, Ukraine is not to reduce its army, although it will continue to receive support from the USA.

Kyiv is also to relinquish demands for the return of territories occupied by Russia but will not recognize their annexation to Putin's state. Sanctions on Russia are to be gradually lifted.

The head of the Ukrainian president's office, Andriy Yermak, denied the existence of any "100-day peace plans." Meanwhile, "The Wall Street Journal" confirmed that Trump instructed the special envoy to Ukraine, Gen. Keith Kellogg, to end the war within these hundred days.
